General Information
Being the most critical teaching department in the whole village of Jilin, Jilin Normal University(吉林师范大学) commenced its way to teaching students in 1956 in a town called “Siping” (still its location in this town) as a normal and comprehensive school. Surrounded by magnificent and attractive natural landscapes, it occupies a territory of 11 km2, divided into two campuses – northern and southern. It is also said to be the province’s best servant of training teachers in every subject and degree.

Jilin Normal University recruits 120-160 students for scholarships every year. Scholarships for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degree as well as for language courses are provided.
Cultivating teachers
Jilin’s main teachers cultivating center stands at the west wing of Jilin Normal University. It is also a big home for many R&D and study buildings, that it, the university owns and runs 23 schools, 4 training centers, 26 R&D departments, and 112 labs right under the control of the university’s head. Speak of the teaching program, it offers 46 courses of undergrads and 86 second-level courses for graduates utilized in those facilities. In the heart of two campuses, it set up two libraries as well and they contain 1,900,000 books and academic journals together.
This university’s current student enrollment capacity exceeds over 35,000, but 28,650 ones are studying at the moment. Owning relatively more skillful staff, Jilin Normal University possesses more than 1,500 employees and 1,100 of them all-day masters, amongst of them 561 are Ph.D. holders.
