The history of Huaqiao University (HQU) started its work in the second half of the 20th century, at that time it was a higher education institute-preparing children of Chinese, who lived abroad. Graduate School is included in the structure of the Office of Foreign Affairs of China. Graduate School is recognized as one of the best universities in the country, which has received an “Excellent” rating in the national assessment of the quality of education, in training personnel for undergraduate programs. Detailed information about university
Today, the university has twenty colleges, a total of specialists are trained in sixty fields of Bachelor programs, sixty-six Master’s programs, and also nine kinds of training in doctoral programs. It should be noted that the educational institution conducts training in field of business administration (MBA) and the main lawyer (Juris Master). In total, specialists are trained in ten categories, some of them: management, law, history, and others.
The High education establishment’s faculty has over two thousand employees, one thousand one hundred & thirty of them are qualified teachers, a quantity of professional professors is about four hundred & fifty. It should be underlined that, as part of the teachers, there are winners of few Government competitions and contests.
Forty-six professors and teachers receive a state scholarship from the Ministry of Education of China. It should be especially noted about foreign professors, teachers who conduct lectures and master classes for outstanding students. The geography and achievements of these teachers are quite high, some of them are guest lecturers from abroad, and some are Nobel Prize winners in field of physics. All of them are honorary professors of the High education establishment.
Management of the university
Management of the Huaqiao University pays special attention to the educational process and research projects, thus creating all the necessary conditions for comfortable research activities among students and researchers. The High school has two campuses, which are located in Quanzhou and Xiamen respectively, the total square meter area of these towns is over two million. It should also be emphasized about the library of the university, for example, the book fund of higher education counts more than one million three hundred & forty thousands books, and e-books up to eight hundred thousand volumes. In addition, about sixty-two research 2 engineering centers operate in the High education establishment, they are structural organizations of the Ministry of Education.
During its work, the Higher School has produced over 100000 talented graduates, including forty thousand foreign students. Today, a quantity of students in the university is more than 28000, 2500 of them are doctoral students and graduate students. The number of students who came from abroad is more than three hundred & five hundred, the geography of countries is more than thirty countries. It is worth noting that HQU is one of the most sought-after institutions of higher education among foreign students.
