Changchun University of Science and Technology was opened by the Academy of natural sciences of the State in 1958 in China. Since the foundation, the university reformed itself into a ministerial-level main university in Jillian’s valley with its most popular feature Optoelectronics, which is composed of integration of optic sciences, mechanic and electronic sciences, sciences of material, information technology as well as its advantages of disciplines of Economy, Management, Arts and legislation. Therefore, this university is recognized as the Home of elites in optoelectronics of China.

Scholarships
University recruits 120-160 students for scholarships every year. Scholarships for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degree as well as for language courses are provided.
In recent years, many overseas students have come to this university to study, and to be granted with scholarships. Therefore, the university is incorporated with local and governmental companies to provide students with grants and scholarships until 2022.

Training departments
At present, it is in possession of 17 colleges and training departments, 61 programs for undergraduates, 85 programs for graduates, and 28 programs for doctorates. Being one of the leading universities in the state, Changchun University of Science and Technology is covering successful teaching subjects of the technology of laser, tools of optoelectronics, techniques, and methods in measurement, qualified to produce innovations, tools of medicine and producing nanometers. According to statistics, the number of candidates in the university is rising at high speed, and in 2017, the university has 19,236 undergraduate students, 6,712 postgraduates, and 631 doctorates.
Foreign efforts

Introduction to IEEE
IEES (International education and exchange School) has been set up and directly managed by the university on the basis of recruiting foreign scholars and providing them qualified scientific affairs and disciplines. For the past years after its start in recruiting oversea collegians in 1988, IEES has enrolled over 3,000 candidates come from more than 70 republics. The average amount of the learners (studies in Chinese-language, postgrads, doctorates and professional collegians) was 518 in 2016. This school supplies the learners with an advanced training major, legendary training experiences, nice atmosphere to learn and live around specially made comforts for them.
