History
The history of the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine(天津中医药大学) begins in the mid-twentieth century, in the late 50s. Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine recruits 120-160 students for scholarships every year.Scholarships for Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degree as well as for language courses are provided.
Academic programs
Nowadays, the university has more than three thousand highly qualified teachers, many of whom have undergone internships abroad, as well as in one of the most prestigious hospitals in the country. Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine trains specialists in four areas, namely, art, medicine, science, and management.
Those, who wish to study at this higher education institution are offered sixteen bachelor programs, more than twenty-five Master programs, and about fifteen doctoral programs. It should be emphasized that the methodology of acupuncture and cauterization is established as the key subjects for most training programs, due to the fact that they are the basics of Chinese traditional medicine. The total number of students studying here is over seven thousand, including foreign students.
Schools
The university has more than fourteen schools and departments, about thirty hospitals for the practice of all students, as well as two research centers for conducting scientific and post-doctoral research. In addition, the university also has more than five medical centers that are assigned to the provinces of the region. At the same time, the university has one pharmaceutical plant and a personnel qualification center. For those, who wish to engage in scientific activities, the university offers its own scientific journal in various fields of medicine, the journal is confirmed by the Higher Attestation Commission of the country in as a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
Hospitals
It should be noted that all the branches of the hospital are classified as medical facilities of the highest class, where all the necessary conditions for patients, as well as for university students to conduct their research activities. The total number of beds for patients in all three hospitals reaches more than two thousand, and the total number of departments of hospitals and clinics is over fifteen. It should be emphasized, that one of the hospitals is the very first in the country in the field of traditional medicine.
The Chinese government has recognized this hospital as the largest center of traditional medicine in China. Apart from this, the university also pays special attention to modern medicine, which is directly based on science and facts. Thus, one of the university hospitals is focused on the study of Western medicine, where the main areas of study are gynecology and encephalopathy.
All hospitals that work at the Higher Educational Institution of Traditional Medicine are equipped with the most modern equipment and technologies for conducting diagnostic examinations, as well as research works by scientists and students of the university. Nowadays, all three hospitals of the university serve more than six thousand patients every day, more than 75% of them receive the results of their analyses on the same day. Thus, university hospitals also play the role of a patient diagnosis clinic.
International Cooperation
For foreign students, the university has an international institute of traditional Chinese medicine, which was founded in the early 90s of the twentieth century. It should be noted that all international actions are carried out through this institution. Today, the Higher Educational Institution of Chinese Traditional Medicine Tianjin has established partnership agreements with more than sixty countries. Partnership agreements cover such areas as research in the field of modern and traditional medicine, modern education and others. As a real example, it is possible to designate that every year, more than six thousand doctors from all over the world intern at this institute and give lectures, and the total number of foreign students this year exceeded two thousand.
