Climate

Harbin is a great place to visit, especially in summer, when daytime temperature slightly more than 20 degrees. Compared to other cities in China, it is much colder, especially during the winter. History of Harbin

Northeast China originally was built as an industrial center using already existing Soviet and Japanese factories. By the 1980s outdated and inefficient factories couldn’t keep up with the times. To further make the situation even more difficult, significant numbers of workers were fired since the early 1990s. Because of it, modern Harbin grapples with an aging workforce and unemployment.

Private enterprises primarily focused on the service sector, retail trade and restaurants. However, thousands of state-owned enterprises are being sold in the province. Many of them have been acquired since the late 1990s. Numerous Harbin universities play a vital role in spheres of economics, education and researches.

Foreigners living in Harbin mainly come from Siberia, Korea, USA, Australia and, in general, from Europe. Over the past 5 years, the population became increasingly diversified. The total amount of funds is 2.435 billion yuan. Total coats of teaching and training equipment are 250 million yuan. The library has 3,81 million of books. 3.500 teachers and professors work at university with 2.030 staff members.

Harbin University of Science and Technology

Harbin University of Science and Tecchnology (HUST) – the largest provincial engineering university in Heilongjiang Province. Located in Ice city Harbin – a picturesque city in northeast China.

The university was founded in the early 1950s. Characteristic disciplines of which are mechanical engineering and power. Also has a philosophy, economics, laws, pedagogy, arts, science, engineering and management. Harbin University of Science and Technology has 3 campuses with a total area of 1.278.000 square meters. The amount of total funds is 1,17 billion yuan. The library has more than 38.000 books, Chinese and international magazines.

Heilongjiang University

Heilongjiang University locates in Harbin, a famous landspace city in northeastern China. The university was founded in 1941 on the basis of the Chinese communist revolution. In 1958 was expanded and rebuilt into Heilongjiang University.

Heilongjiang University – is a provincial university. It has language disciplines, commercial law, philosophy of Marxism, business and water management. It offers the only Manchu language program in China. There are more than 35.000 graduate students and 5.000 master’s degrees with 3.200 teachers. Heilongjiang University cooperates with 140 colleges all over the world.
