The first establishment of Lanzhou Jiaotong University(兰州交通大学) dates back to 1958 when 2 major railway companies in China agreed to build a university. Then these two famous companies contributed to the development of the establishment of LZJTU.
Previously the institution was famous with its original name, Lanzhou Railway University. Then the Educational Ministry of China supported the idea of changing the current name of the university into Lanzhou Jiaotong University. As years passed the progress of the institution has increased and took its own reputation in quality, as well as science.
