North China Electric Power University (hereinafter N.C.E.P.U) was opened in 1959 and got the present name in 1975 by the government of China. It is subordinated by the agency pedagogics and entered the list of the one hundred best universities selected by the “two-one-one”, provides them with latest curriculum methods and technologies. The Bejing dorm is in possession of 56km2 land and the Baodiong dorm consists of a territory of 41km2. North China Electric Power University owes colleges of nearly 10km2 territory owned, which covers over 2,000 well-equipped classrooms, archives that are in possession of 1,900,000 volumes and 100,000 gigabytes data of different sciences, labs, R&D centers, and 2,800 excellent faculty members, includes 1,900 PhD masters, 800 entry-level masters, 50 academic of the Local Academies of Electronic mechanisms, are having 20% income of the university (the overall annual income is 2,400,000 yuan) and working with 41,000 scholars, consist of 29,000 undergrads and 12,000 post grads.
North China Electric Power University has been continuously improving schooling programmes and totally educating systems for grads, master-levels, PhD collegians have been cultivated. Nowadays, the university is utilizing 69 undergrad programmes, 58 grad programmes, 30 PhD programmes, three A1 approved subjects to grant PhD levels, two modular post doctorate academical inquiry centers, one post doctorate of new-projecting, 16 principal subjects of the province and the MOE, 14 principal labs of the province of Beijing and under the control of Agency pedagogics, three inquiry centres for the development of the natural fuel of China and particular PhD programmes for the special subjects of management, marketing and functional mathematics. Additionally, North China Electric Power University has a large garden for junior scientists and it became one of the best garden-like universities.
History, programms
In the last 10 years, University has finished more than 600 academical blueprints at the nationalized levels that supported by the donations of “eight-six-three” and “nine-seven-three” enterprises. Among 96 of the blueprints were awarded by big winnings and prizes of the local and global academical foundations. In 2006, the total amount of the donations got to 225,000,000 yuan.
Continuously developing exchange programmes and upgrading from undergrads to graduate levels, North China Electric Power University has achieved good results at contracting with foreign institutes from different 40 countries such as U.S.A, U.K, Russia, Germany, France, Japan, etc. This year 416 oversea collegians are being taught at North China Electric Power University.
North China Electric Power University is not only giving attention to tuition, additionally it has produced programmes to maintain students disciplined with effective rules and slogans such as “justice, honesty, diligence, simple”, “Believe and Succeed” and so on.
Seeing the necessities for oils and powers and feeling to know alternative energies are in need, University has created “alternative powers” program, includes these categories: improving scholars’ cognitive abilities, creating innovations and full evolution, and three modules: experimentation, student-only practices and the process of simulating, aiming at helping for economy of the world. Since then, it has been able to cultivate more than 1000 superior graduates to society. Among 84 of became academics at the local academies, which specialized on the sources of energy and 37 managers of the companies of the fuel economics of the government.
